Time: 8:45 am - 4:15 pm (includes 30 min. unpaid lunch)
Hourly Wage Rate: $17.00

FCAG is looking for 2 Camp Leaders to join us this Summer during our Summer Art Day Camp! The program operates from July - August and children will learn new drawing, painting, sculpting and other forms of visual art techniques in a safe and encouraging environment.

About the Program:
The Summer Art Camp (day camp) program operates from July through to August. Children will receive instruction in the techniques and methods of drawing, painting, sculpting and other forms of visual art in a safe and encouraging environment.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Camp Director/Instructor, the Camp Leader is responsible for assisting in all activities day-to-day in the studio and outdoors, including:

Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Camp Director/Instructor, the Camp Leader is responsible for assisting in all activities day-to-day in the studio and outdoors, including:
- Supervising children during outdoor time, leading group games, ensuring students are playing / working safely and upholding house rules.
- Monitoring / supervising children during their lunch and snack breaks.
- Assisting with set up for programming and clean up of grounds and studio.
- Working one on one with children to help them learn techniques and provide emotional and physical support while completing projects.
- Reporting any serious occurrences, concerns, and behavioral issues to the director and assisting with caring for children as instructed.
- Monitoring supply inventory and maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
- Interacting positively with children, parents/guardians and staff.
- Perform tasks and responsibilities as per the FCAG Code of Conduct.
Qualifications:
- Youth between 15 to 30 years of age (due to grant requirements)
- A Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial legislation and regulations
- Must complete or be certified in Standard First Aid by start date
- A current Vulnerable Sector Screening / Criminal Reference Check (if over 18 yrs of age)
- Our ideal candidate is a hard worker who is reliable, takes direction well, learns quickly, and has a positive attitude. Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience with art making and/or an interest in the arts is encouraged.
- Experience working with children is strongly recommended.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment

VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Board Director
Type: Volunteer
Part-time: 10 hours/month
Term: 3 years (elected at the Annual General Meeting)

Accountability
Board Directors are collectively accountable for FCAG’s performance with respect to its mandate and objectives. Directors are accountable to FCAG members, key stakeholders and the North Etobicoke community.
Authority
Board Directors have no authority to act individually in the direction of staff and volunteers or to act as spokesperson for FCAG unless specifically given such authority by the Board.
Responsibilities
Board Directors are responsible for the effective governance of FCAG by applying approved policies and procedures. Also, for ensuring that FCAG’s mandate and objectives are carried out.
General Duties
- Attend monthly meetings
- Participate in annual and strategic planning
- Read and understand the financial statements and funding system
- Review/amend and approve by-laws and governing policies
- Review and amend FCAG’s mandate and objectives
- Participate in the recruitment of staff and new Board Directors
- Be a member of a least one Committee
- Attend events organized by FCAG
- Attend an orientation and ongoing training, as required
Qualifications
- Be or become an FCAG member
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Not be an undischarged bankrupt person
- Demonstrate and encourage innovative thinking
- Openness to learning
- Experience in the following areas: fundraising, financial planning, human resources and community engagement
