Daytime Class (Beginner/Intermediate Level)
Instructor: Nancy Buckingham
Time: Thursdays from 10 am to 12:30 pm starting March 20
Duration: 8 weeks starting march 20

Studio: June Thomson Studio (main floor)

Description:
Nancy will be teaching beginners and intermediates in this inclusive and welcoming class. The focus will be on each individual's growth, with attention to the fundamentals. Painting demonstrations will be the backbone of each class.

- Cold pressed paper (Arches 140 lb)
- Paper towel
- Pencil and Kneaded eraser

- Paper (Arches 140 lb)
- H or HB pencil
- Eraser
- Paper towel
- Masking tape and board for painting

This class offers a comprehensive introduction to the art of botanical illustration using watercolor techniques. Students will learn how to capture the intricate beauty of plants, flowers, and foliage through detailed, scientifically accurate illustrations, while also embracing the expressive qualities of watercolor painting.
Throughout the course, participants will develop foundational drawing skills, learning how to accurately observe and depict plant structures, textures, and colors. With a focus on precision and creativity, students will explore a variety of watercolor techniques, from gentle washes to layering and blending, to create vibrant, realistic depictions of plants.
