Art Classes for Children (Ages 5-8)
Artistic Explorers (Ages 5–8)

Welcome to our interdisciplinary arts and crafts program, specially crafted to ignite the creativity of curious 5-8-year-olds! Our program not only provides an open space for young artists to explore various mediums and express themselves freely but also focuses on strengthening their artistic skills.
Artist and FCAG instructor Makayla Hutter is dedicated to inspiring and guiding young artists, helping them develop and refine their unique artistic voices. Through engaging activities, we will foster imagination and offer a diverse range of artistic experiences that encourage skill-building. Each session introduces different techniques, such as painting, molding clay sculptures, creating collages, and building structures with recycled materials. Our program provides a platform for young artists to strengthen their artistic abilities while nurturing their innate creativity. Join us on this magical adventure where endless possibilities and skill enhancement intertwine, nurturing a lifelong love for art!

Time: Mondays from 6 pmto 8:30 pm
Duration: 4 weeks from October 16 to November 6
Location: Franklin Carmichael Art Centre (34 Riverdale Dr, Etobicoke)
Studio: Kramolc Studio (on second floor; accessible via stairs only; no elevator)

Led by artist Darlene Kulig, this class will help teens reconnect with their inner child and discover their "essence" as artists. Teens will learn about composition, the artist's toolbox, how to work with acrylic paints, and most importantly how to "let go" of outcomes in a carefree art-making environment. Each week, class will begin with an art critique, followed by a mini lesson where Darlene will teach students about the art-making process. From there, students will have time to work on a painting of their choice. Teens who take part in this series will learn how to be present in the moment.
